winning regional gallery, a community gallery and privately owned exhibition spaces, you’ll find art not only contained inside as you wander the city. Explore murals on the street art trail, sculptures and light installations around the city centre and works by local artists. Ipswich Art Gallery If you’re visiting Ipswich, a stop at Ipswich Art Gallery is a must. Exhibitions are ever changing - showcasing local artists, travelling exhibitions, interactive children’s exhibits and the gallery’s own collection – there is always something new to see. The gallery is a visual arts and social history museum located in a heritage-listed building opened in 1861. It features a children’s gallery and shop.

Ipswich Central Street Art Trail The trail features 13 murals painted on buildings around Ipswich Central. Some of the murals were painted during the Brisbane Street Art Festival and include colourful indigenous design, portraits and animals.
Tulmur Place Here you can explore Indigenous artists’ work in the form of a mural and hanging sculptures. There are also native Australian animal sculptures, works by well known local artist Lincoln Austin and brightly coloured murals. At night, the water feature comes alive with colourful lights and the blocks around the precinct also light up. There are six projectors that light up the building facades and more than 315 lights on the outside of the Ipswich City Council building, which at certain times of the year are used in arts festivals and other activations.
Ipswich Community Gallery The gallery is located close to to the Ipswich Art Gallery and holds exhibitions by local artists throughout the year. Entry is free and the exhibitions are ever changing in the accessible and welcoming space.
Arttime Gallery & Fine Art Supplies Located along Brisbane Street in the Top of Town precinct, Arttime Gallery & Fine Art Supplies hosts exhibitions featuring local artists. Coming up this year is a SPARK Ipswich exhibit in July and a skateboard themed exhibition and competition in September. The shop also stocks art equipment and local artisan creations. There’s even a section dedicated to pop culture with Rare and Pretty Dolls.
Julesart Studio Gallery Julie Maddox’s gallery space features a
collection of works available for purchase and viewing in different mediums. She is experienced in painting, porcelain and mixed media works. You can view her works by appointment.
