ACTIVE KIDS ATHLETICS SOCIAL STORY

In the school holidays I will go to athletics. This will be outdoors at a park near my house. I will go with my family, friends or carer.

I will remember to bring my: water bottle hat sunscreen.

I can bring other items that help me feel safe.

This is a fun session where I will learn all about athletics. I will get to choose what I would like to do, running, jumping and throwing.

I will meet the coach. Together, we will do the Acknowledgement of Country and say thank you to the owners of land where we will run around.

The coach will tell me what we will be doing and how to do it. I can ask more questions if I need to understand better.

I can choose to play with other children. I can choose to play with other adults. I can choose to play by myself.

The session will go for one hour. I don’t have to stay long. I can leave when I have had enough.

I will then get in the car and head back home. I will have a great time

at athletics. I am excited!
