Active Kids: Silent Disco Activity Book

ACTIVE KIDS SILENT DISCO SOCIAL STORY

On Thursday 28 September I will go to the Active Kids Silent Disco. I will go with my family, friends or carer.

SEPTEMBER

I will go to the YMCA at Springfield Central. This is just a short drive from my house.

The disco will be inside on a big basketball court.

I will remember to bring my: water bottle shoes snacks

I can bring other items that help me feel safe.

When I arrive, I will meet Natalie from Ipswich City Council. She will check me in and show me around. I will then get to learn how to use the headphones.

I will get to choose what I listen to and what volume it is. I will get to do my favourite dance moves.

I can choose to dance and play with other children. I can choose to dance and play with other adults. I can choose to dance and play by myself.

If it gets a bit overwhelming and I need a moment for myself, I have the option to go to the chill-out zone. This is a quiet room where I can have a break.

I don’t have to stay the whole time and can leave when I have had enough.

I will then get in the car and head back home. I will have a great time at the Silent Disco. I am excited!
