From rural settings to historic brick backdrops and lush garden scapes, Ipswich ticks a lot of boxes when it comes to planning a wedding. Read on to discover some of the region’s best locations to say “I do”.
3. Spicers HiddenVale – Spicers Hidden Vale is a unique wedding venue specialising in luxury destination weddings. Set amongst rolling hills and lush bushland, the historic property is just one hour’s drive from Brisbane and 50 minutes from Toowoomba. From an intimate occasion of two guests right up to grand celebrations of 200, the beautifully maintained gardens provide endless options for your ceremony. 4. 4 Hearts Brewing – At 4 Hearts Brewing you can enjoy a casual, flexible wedding space in a beautiful heritage setting. Couples have the choice to mix and match food and beverages to suit their needs and style the spaces how they like. A popular choice is hosting the ceremony in the adjoining RSL Memorial Gardens and a casual reception on the Dovetails deck or for a larger group, heading up to the Lord Lamington Suite. There are plenty of stunning locations amongst heritage backdrops for photography including a unique brewery space. 5. Floating Images Hot Air Balloon Flights – You can now tie the knot while floating 2,000 feet above the ground. Thanks to a new venture by Floating Images, say “I Do” in a hot air balloon while taking in the most amazing countryside. 6. BLVD – Located inside the Springfield Lakes Hotel is a beautiful poolside restaurant that makes a stunning location for a wedding. 7. The Soul Nook Collective – If you’re looking for something a little different for your wedding The Soul Nook Collective offers styled bell tents and grazing platters for your special day, and they can come to any location.
8. Ipswich Civic Centre – Once you’ve held your wedding ceremony at one of Ipswich’s finest locations, you can head over to the Ipswich Civic Centre for an elegant reception. There’s three rooms to choose from catering for 50 to 400 people. 9. Ipswich Showgrounds – The Ipswich Showgrounds also offer wedding reception packages for up to 500 people in their newly upgraded exhibition centre and up to 200 in their reception centre. 10. Kholo Gardens – This picturesque park is filled with a charming and historic old church, lush gardens, a crystal clear lily pond, and the beautiful Tree Fern Lane which hosts a natural rainforest canopy. Kholo Gardens is definitely one place to pop on your wedding list. 11. Queens Park – For a park with a true trademark heritage feel, Queens Park ticks all the right boxes. It is one of the oldest parks in Queensland, but is also beautifully maintained and features an open air bush chapel. 12. Nerima Gardens – A place of peace and tranquillity or perhaps just the thing to calm the nerves on your big day. This Japanese- inspired paradise was opened in 2001 and is named after Ipswich’s sister city, Nerima. Nerima Gardens provides the ideal place to capture beautiful photographs, with an array of stunning and diverse backdrops available.
1. Woodlands of Marburg – The rustic charm of an old bohemian styled mansion is hard to beat. The 1890 built plantation style mansion has exquisite cedar lined walls, high ceilings and ornate marble fire places, allowing you the chance to step into another time and a day you’ll never forget. A great place for a ceremony is the iconic lone fig tree on the hill. It’s one of the most instagrammed trees in South East Queensland. 2. The Workshops Rail Museum – You might not have imagined saying your vows at an historic railway workshop, but don’t let that steer you away from The Workshops Rail Museum. The venue is available for both wedding ceremonies and receptions, with options from canapes to three course dinners. The Workshops are Australia’s oldest railway workshop still in operation and the Museum’s industrial heritage provides a stunning backdrop for photos.
