Festival of Horsepower Festival of Horsepower is a month long program in June, packed full of adrenaline and excitement. Over four weekends visitors will be spoilt for choice with events across the city including social events, the Ipswich Cup , kart racing championships, 2 Days of Thunder at Queensland Raceways and the Winternationals at Willowbank Raceway. 5. SPARK Ipswich SPARK Ipswich , the reimagined Ipswich Festival, is a city-wide event celebrating the people, places, arts and culture of Ipswich. The program will feature fresh new content including live music, projection art, a contemporary music festival just for kids and much more. 6. Galvanized A festival of heritage, showcasing the best heritage experiences and events Ipswich has to offer. Be transported back in time by visiting iconic venues, historic sites and participating in workshops. 7. Christmas in Ipswich Celebrate the festive season in style with Christmas in Ipswich – a citywide festive celebration. It all kicks off with the lighting of the City’s Christmas tree and concludes with some New Year’s Eve family fun. There's also stunning Christmas lights displays to explore, Christmas Wonderland and much more. 8. A Day out With Thomas Everyone’s favourite blue engine is steaming back to The Workshops Rail Museum these winter school holidays for A Day Out With Thomas. Meet Thomas and The Fat Controller, dive into the Thomas Play Pit, become railway engineers and get hands-on with Thomas activities and craft. Bring the whole family to enjoy the museum including the Sciencentre which is included in entry price. 9. Bjorn Again – Mamma Mia! Here we go again tour! Internationally acclaimed Bjorn Again will play all of ABBA’s biggest hits and more in an action-packed, highly entertaining night of fun for the whole family. You will be singing and dancing in the Ipswich Civic Centre aisles before you can ring-ring Fernando and Chiquitita and send out an SOS.

Planes, Trains & Autos Looking for an adrenaline charged weekend? A celebration of all things aviation, rail and autos takes place on the long weekend in May. Immerse yourself in a day fuelled with aerial, rail and auto displays and experiences at The Workshops Railway Museum and then join in at satellite events including the Queensland Auto Spectacular at Willowbank Raceway .
