Venture INTO THE GREAT OUTDOORS

With over 6000ha of open parks and conservation areas it’s no wonder that Ipswich is starting to become the home of many outdoor recreation and endurance events. Throughout the year, the region delivers up a season of outdoor events encouraging adventure enthusiasts to venture to Ipswich for cycling, mountain biking and trail running, as well as family friendly outdoor events across the city. The Venture series is all about taking the challenge and really pushing yourself to the limits, with daring sports that will see you climbing to the top of mountains, riding from town to town with cycling festivals or getting the whole family together to take part in kid friendly events. The Ipswich 100 and Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Festival of Cycling will lead the cycling events, while EPIC and the Ipswich Trail Run Series will give trail runners the opportunity to check out Ipswich's terrain.

If you’re up for family adventures, the Tuffkidz Duathlon and Triathlon, Ipswich Hospital Foundation Park2Park Fun Run and the Merida 24HR and Dingo mountain biking events at Hidden Vale will get you and the kids active outdoors. The great thing about Tuffkidz events is they are designed specifically for kids in prep to high school who want to be an athlete for a day and register as a Tuffkid! These events will see your kids running, biking and swimming distances specific to grade levels, all the while challenging themselves. Mountain biking fans are spoilt for choice with some of the best events in Queensland, held in top class facilities. Ipswich has a variety of mountain biking parks in the city, including International Mountain Biking Association classified trails. There’s biking events to suit all skill levels including the EPIC and Merida 24HR at Hidden Vale Adventure Park , the Rocky Trail Fox Superflow Enduro event and the Wild West at Castle Hill .
