Barkley and Pips

Man’s best friend has never been as important in our lives as now. Holiday with your best mate in the heritage city and select from these pet friendly experiences.

To start your adventure we’ll stop at Colleges Crossing where you can bring your pup for a run around. Take a walk along the river which is home to swans and ducks. Next head to Barkley and Pips for breakfast. The cafe has been designed for dogs and there is a play area, dog treats and grooming available here. Next, visit Queens Park . Queensland’s oldest designated park is a dog friendly location, just keep your pooch on a leash. You can visit most of the park with your pet including the bush chapel and well-maintained gardens around the glasshouse, the only places you can’t take your furry friend is inside Nerima Gardens and the Ipswich Nature Centre. Either grab some takeaway from Queens Park Cafe , or head to Rafter and Rose for a sit-down lunch. The dog-friendly cafe will let you sit in their leafy laneway setting with your pup pal while you enjoy great coffee and scrumptious food. Then check into your accommodation for the night. There’s a couple of options for accommodation if you want a dog friendly stay in Ipswich. The Full Stop , also known as Dot House and Flamin' Galah . Both have three bedrooms, a fully fenced yard and have been lovingly restored offering a modern and luxurious feel. Once you’ve settled in, head to Pumpyard Bar and Brewery for an early dinner and drinks. You can sit outside in the laneway with your pup, try a few of the locally made beers and indulge in epic burgers, pizza and beer food. There’s something to please everyone with salad and seafood also on the menu. The next day take a drive down the Centenary

There’s never been as many dog friendly cafes and restaurants around Ipswich. The shops in Marburg are also dog friendly, including the historic hotel – which allows you to bring your furry friend into the beer garden and The Soul Nook Collective’s styled picnic settings are also dog friendly. For more information on these Marburg locations see pages 26-27.
