UB's move and expansion Ipswich’s most famous ice creamery is now calling itself UB's Milk Bar (Ungermann Brothers) and has opened a new shop front on Brisbane Street. They have kept their signature electro swing vibe. With the change comes new offerings including burgers, fries, desserts, decadent milkshakes and more. Two hats for Homage Homage Restaurant has been awarded two chef hats in the Australian Good Food Guide for three years running. The restaurant located at Spicers Hidden Vale has a commitment to sourcing locally grown produce as well as growing their own. A slice of Italy The owners of German restaurant Heisenberg Haus have opened Mikes Pizzeria serving traditional Neapolitan style pizza and pastas. They’ve also got a tasty wine list and a cosy atmosphere. Decadent dining Woodlands of Marburg has opened a fine dining restaurant inside the property’s historic mansion called The Sugarmill . Be transported to a time of elegance and splendour with glittering chandeliers and warm cedar lined walls as you indulge in decadent and seasonal dishes. Awards for dining and wine In 2021 modern Australian restaurant Dovetails won an award for its wine list in the Australia Wine List of the Year awards. Add to that a win for Contemporary Australian Restaurant – Informal in the SEQ Restaurant and Catering Awards and you don’t need any more reasons to book in!

Ipswich’s only tapas bar Recently opening in the revitalised Nicholas St precinct, The Rusty Nail Bar has gained a suite of loyal followers for its tasty tapas style menus and tipples. It’s a great place to go for after work drinks or dinner.

Tea tasting events launch Tea sommelier Dona Perera has opened Tranquil Tea House at her Tivoli home, launching tea tasting and blending classes, high teas and venue hire opportunities.

Smokehouse opens Starting out as a catering and BBQ business Phat Boyz Smokehouse and Kitchen has expanded to offer breakfast, lunch and dinner at their new restaurant location. They’ve also got a killer drinks menu.
