Ipswich Civic Centre

Ipswich’s live music and theatre venues

A wealth of homegrown talent can be found at Studio 188 . Located in the Top of Town precinct, the studio’s highly popular Westside Scramble and Fry Up series shine a spotlight on up-and-coming artists. Or, if you think you have got what it takes to hit the stage, be sure to drop by Banshees Bar & Artspace in the Ipswich CBD, for open mic night and karaoke. Here you will also find indie touring bands on weekends. For theatre enthusiasts that crave drama, comedy, action and suspense, reserve your seat for an upcoming play at the Incinerator Theatre . The talented actors from Ipswich Little Theatre are known to act out well-known playwrights, as well as their own stories.

The Ipswich Musical Theatre Company operates out of The Old Courthouse and Ipswich Civic Centre, bringing musicals to life from epic productions like Guys and Dolls to A Little Night Music! Club Services Ipswich (CSI), Jets Leagues Club and Brothers Leagues Club also have free live music most weekends. For special events, CSI and Brothers also host touring tribute shows and original acts that you require tickets for. Stony Creek Brewing are bringing back live music sessions including Friday afternoons, Saturday nights and Sunday arvo sessions.

Ipswich’s music and arts scene is alive and kicking, full of thought-provoking shows, comedy and dopamine-producing gigs. One of the best venues to catch a live gig or show is Ipswich Civic Centre , which delivers world-class entertainment every month. American ventriloquist David Strassman, dancers from the Russian Ballet and Aussie singer-songwriter Amy Shark are just a few of the big names to have graced the stage. The Racehorse Hotel is another venue able to secure top acts including country, rock, RnB, and more. Recently Reece Mastin and The Butterfly Effect have hit the stage here.
