How to spend a day in Springfield

Try the boss burger! Sit right by Spring Lake and after lunch take a stroll around Spring Lake Park. It’s calm, with beautiful board walks and sometimes you can sit and watch locals with their electric boats out on the lake. 2.00 pm – Check out Robelle Domain . There’s so many options all within one space, an open kick around area, equipment, splash and play (zero depth water play), and recreational walking paths. Orion Lagoon is there as well. And for a treat you can pop up the hill to the GE building and grab some Cold Rock ice cream. 3.00 pm – Head to Time Zone at Orion Shopping Centre . Before or after you can stop and grab a bite to eat at fountain place or even some ice cream on main street. 5.00 pm – Grab a cold one on tap from local brewhouse Ballistic Springfield . If dinner is on the cards try the chef’s special Belgian waffle served with crispy chicken thigh and drizzled with honey chilli sauce.

Dakota Davidson from the Brisbane Lions AFLW is based in Springfield for six months of the year. While her player commitments mean a lot of time training and playing, when she has time off she enjoys spending it outdoors and enjoying good coffee. My favourite place in Springfield has to be Brighton Homes Arena – especially on match day! There's just so much to do with a basketball half court, Roar Espresso cafe and Total Fusion gym on site – it really has it all. But even when it’s not game day, there’s still so much you can do in Springfield, if I had just one day to spend in Springfield here’s what I would do. 8.00 am – Grab a coffee and brekkie roll from Lotus Cafe , then head to White Rock – Spring Mountain Conservation Reserve to spend some time in nature while also getting in a sneaky workout. The White Rock Gunpit Ridge Track has a lookout with views over to Mt Coot-tha. 12.00 pm – Stop for lunch at Moselles Cafe + Restaurant .
