Ipswich in Autumn 2021

Message from Ipswich Mayor, Teresa Harding

Autumn is always a celebratory time in Ipswich as we prepare for both the Easter Holidays and a welcome dose of cooler weather. We’ve started this year off with a bang with many wonderful and exciting events here in Ipswich. The Workshops Rail Museum will have plenty for the children in the school holidays, which include Easter this year, with displays of restored locomotives and carriages. You can even step back in time at Queensland Pioneer Steam Railway, with picnic train trips for the family. The city will play host to the inaugural Planes, Trains and Autos Festival on the May long weekend. Join us for an adrenaline charged celebration of all things aviation, rail and autos.

As the weather starts to turn from the heat of summer, residents can enjoy the IAG Exhibition Portraiture in still life at Ipswich Art Gallery until mid-April. Autumn is a wonderful time to experience the changing colours of our city at any of council’s many well-maintained parks. Another first for Ipswich will be the Anywhere Festival, partnering this year with council, to dazzle and amaze locals and tourists with dance and comedy performances in unusual locations. The widely recognised and respected Ipswich Art Awards will be bigger and better in 2021 with a host of well- known artists and their top-class work. There is just so much to see and do in Ipswich, whatever the season. So come along and have a wonderful and safe Easter break.
