Council’s construction crews called ‘tools down’ for the last time on the restoration and expansion of the Hotel Commonwealth early in winter. With safety screens removed in June, passersby were provided a sneak peek of newly tiled frontage and entry while inside, a new amenities block and extended footprint towards the river across three levels was all being finalised to hand over to hotel manager, AusHotels.
