Message from Ipswich Mayor, Teresa Harding

And as spring blesses our city with warmer weather and blossoming flora, it’s time to celebrate what makes Ipswich great. what individuals and communities can do to help to care for our environment and contribute to sustainability efforts.

Entries for the annual Ipswich Art Awards opened on 1 August 2026 ahead of the Exhibition from 7 to 14 November when we showcase the amazing works of artists from Ipswich and beyond. We get our first taste of the festive season when the Christmas Lights Competition begins in October, and we also cast an eye to 2027 as nominations open for the annual Ipswich Australia Day Awards before winners are announced at a ceremony in January. So put away the winter woollies and put on a sunhat because there’s no better time to enjoy all Ipswich has to offer than spring.
