Ipswich in Summer 2024-2025

A new clubhouse for community sporting groups will be built at Silver Jubilee Sports Facility in Spring Mountain after Ipswich City Council selected H&G Contractors for construction. Construction starting on the $3 million clubhouse is a key milestone for Ipswich’s rapidly growing eastern suburbs. Community sports groups welcomed the expansive Silver Jubilee Sports facility when it opened in 2023 with two rugby fields, an AFL field, six dedicated basketball and netball hard courts, picnic facilities and playground. This exciting new facility will include a clubroom, change rooms, referees’ rooms, kitchen and food preparation area, and more – everything our community sport clubs need to succeed. This project is being jointly funded by council and the Australian Government through its Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program, stimulating additional infrastructure construction in local communities nationally to help in managing the economic impacts of COVID-19. Following a tender process, council recently selected H&G Contractors from 10 businesses to deliver the project. Construction has started and is expected to be completed in the first half of 2025.
