RANGER JODY ACTIVE KIDS BUSHWALKING GUIDE

How long have you been leading bushwalks in Ipswich? “I have been leading bushwalks in Ipswich Conservation Estates for four years now, but my passion for exploring, understanding and telling the stories of our amazing nature goes way back to when I was 8 years old!” What do you love most about being an Active Kids instructor? “I love introducing kids to the secret lives of the animals and plants of the forest, helping them find answers to their questions about nature, and watching as

they discover their own connection with the natural world around them.” When you’re not leading a bushwalk, what else do you like to do? “Any activity that helps nature, like joining in with community activities such as tree planting or cleaning up litter. At our own farm we are restoring some native bushland, so there’s lots of tree planting and weed management to enjoy with my family too. Recently I have also had fun creating a worm farm and home vege garden to grow our own organic, sustainable food.”

With over 30 free activities to attend, it’s easy for your kids to get outdoors and stay active in the school holidays.
