While winter is known in many places of the world as the time to stay close to home, winter in Ipswich is for fast-paced adrenaline junkies and for The Festival of Horsepower will be back throughout June, with another month-long program packed full of excitement – sure to keep you warm in the cooler temperatures. The annual festival features a number of signature home-grown and national racing and motorsport events, from the glitz and glamour of the TAB Ipswich Cup to the raw and adrenaline- fuelled action of the Gulf Western Oil Winternationals. Then in July, SPARK Ipswich is back for another year offering 10 days of arts and cultural events, live entertainment and more, running from 11–20 July. This year’s program is extra special as we mark 50 years of the Ipswich Civic Centre – a place that has hosted generations of performances, events and memories. Embracing winter’s earlier setting sun, deLight will once again light up the night’s sky in Nicholas Street Precinct for the annual SPARK Ipswich festival, and our city’s signature children’s music and arts event Little Day Out will be anything but small when it returns on 20 July.
