As the school holidays roll around each year, Ipswich is busy planning fantastic events to keep children entertained. The team behind the Nicholas Street Precinct have gained a huge following with their themed events from dinosaurs to sports activities. At Nicholas Street Precinct there will be free aquatic animal-themed experiences during the Easter school holidays over 7–11 April. The winter holidays brings a sports theme with Play On from 30 June to 4 July, expect sports to try, sporting heroes to meet and more. In spring, the hugely popular and free Dinosaur Discovery experience will be back! There will be animatronic dinosaurs with plenty of photo moments from 22 September to 5 October. Dinosaurs are also now a permanent feature at EWE Nique Hobby Farm . Their experience features replica dinosaurs, lush plants, birds and fish – and all the farm animals of course!
Santa-themed escape room If your children love solving puzzles, then why not let them unleash their inner detective at Seraphim Escape Rooms. Working together as part of a team, the kids will enter a specially designed themed room where they will need to put their heads together to find the clues, solve the puzzles, and unlock the door in a certain time frame. This activity is perfect for children that are a little older and love a good challenge. Children’s Gallery The Ipswich Art Gallery run children’s exhibitions during the holidays. The exhibitions are always changing so there’s something new to explore. Ipswich Libraries The award-winning children’s library features free school holidays activities. There are also interactive experiences inside the library. Ipswich Nature Centre The Ipswich Nature Centre in Queens Park is open seven days a week during school holidays. It is home to 42 different species with native Australian animals and farmyard friends. Entry is free, but gold coin donations are welcomed. RampAttack Indoor Skatepark Queensland’s largest indoor skatepark just happens to be in Ipswich. There are three main sections complete with a Resi section for scooters and foam pit.
